Sander Tideman, Chairman of Mind and Life Europe, will give a special lecture.
Exchanges between modern scientist and Buddhist meditators have confirmed what ancient contemplative traditions have known for a long time: the human mind is changeable into a positive direction. The discovery of the phenomena of neuro-plasticity has contributed to a new paradigm for understanding the mind, mental inner and outer phenomena, as well as our interactions in the world. The Mind & Life Institute, co-founded by neuro-scientist Francesco Varela and H.H. the Dalai Lama, had facilitated these exchanges and research for more than 30 years, involving people such as Jon Kabat-Zinn, Daniel Goleman, Richard Davidson, Roshi Joan Halifax, Matthieu Ricard, Tania Singer, and many others. This lecture recounts the story of these exchanges and explores its significance for a new perspective on modern science and society, including the worlds of business and economics. The presenter just released a new book “Business as Instrument for Societal Changeā based on 20 years of dialogue with H.H. the Dalai Lama.
